Barn Fire That Killed Horses Rekindles

Firefighters were called back to the scene Tuesday morning of where a barn caught fire last week in Fayette County.

It broke out last Thursday night at Grand Marina Farm on Russell Cave Road.

At that time, one of the farm's owners, Bill Hilliard, was nearby and ran into the barn.

Hilliard was able to get one thoroughbred out.

The horses that died were thoroughbred show horses.

A mule also died.

It was a boarding barn which held horses for other owners.

I believe it's Gram Arena not Grand Marina.

This is a sad situation. I will miss driving down Russell Cave and seeing the donkey along the road in his paddock.
