Ky. Jail Escapee Captured In Detroit

A jail escapee from Pike County is back in police custody but in another state.

Police found Michael R. Gannon in Detroit, Michigan.

Gannon walked away from a work release program at the Pike County Detention Center on Wednesday.

He was serving time on robbery charges.

He's now awaiting extradition.

    My father is a sgt. and it is very easy for an inmate to walk away on work release...work release is givin to the imates as an incentive- - well that just added another 5 yrs to his sentence- - good going!!! i wish people would grow up!

    How did the escapee get to Detroit? Was it a planned escape?
