Motorcyclist Critically Injured In Madison Wreck

RICHMOND, KY -- A motorcyclist was in critical condition Friday evening after a wreck on Battlefield Memorial Highway, reports the Lexington Herald-Leader in its Saturday edition.

Police said the accident occurred about 9:30 a.m. when George McQueen, 44, of Tyner lost control of his motorcycle and crossed into the southbound lane on Battlefield Memorial Highway, reports the Herald-Leader.

According to a report issued by Kentucky State Police, Tyner collided with a 2006 Freightliner box truck driven by David Adams. Adams, 41, was traveling northbound. McQueen, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle, reports the newspaper.

He was taken to Berea Hospital, and was later airlifted to University of Kentucky Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition Friday night. The collision remains under investigation by Trooper Michael Stotts, reports the Lexington Herald-Leader.
