Council Members Discuss Budget Plan

Lexington Urban County Council members met early Monday morning to talk about the city's next budget.

The council met last week but still had a few items with the budget to work out.

Monday morning they met and voted on the final item, a 2.3% increase in pay for all non-sworn-in city employees.

This was the only item the council members voted on in this special meeting.

Nice to see someone is getting a cost of living raise. Just stinks that its government people, as usual. Am I the only person with a problem with this?? I think not--With the economy the way it is, would it not make more sense to put that 2.3% increase towards the road fund "for our benefit", instead of raising the tax on gas and subsequently the price of gas and railroading the working middle class into the poor house? Our cost of living has increased, too, but our wages have not. This "news" just makes me sick!! Come on Kentucky!! WAKE UP before its too late!!
