Couple Arrested, Accused Of Starving Their Children

A Danville couple is under arrest, accused of starving their children.

Charles and Virginia Holsinger are charged with neglect and criminal abuse.

Police say they got a tip on Friday from the Cabinet of Families and Children. They responded to the home on Seminole Trail in Danville and found two children who showed signs of starvation.

Police say the boys, ages nine and 12, were taken to the hospital where they were found to be malnourished. They're now in state custody.

Neighbors say the family moved to the neighborhood only a few months ago and kept to themselves for the most part.

Both Charles and Virginia Holsinger declined our request for an interview.

They are both being held in the Boyle County Detention Center on $100,000 bond each.

God knows the truth and the boys do as well. As far as their biomom she needs prayers cause she is the one that hurt them

He who is without sin, shall cast the first stone. I really think after the research from my state is available to the folks in Kentucky to know truly the history of the boys. Then everyone will understand Until then do not judged, lest you be judged. The best thing instead to do is to pray for them and the children. I will continue to pray

You all certainly have them judged juried and convicted. I am so glad that you are not the judge of them, me or anyone else. Guilty or not, what have YOU done lately to help families out that need it? Instead of sitting there judging others, scoffing at someone's weight - which by the way - is SO mature, thak a look in the mirror. Before pointing out the speck in someone's eye, try pulling the plank out of yours first. Pray for the children and for the parents. If they really did starve these children.. they need help.. the WHOLE family needs it, not your condemnation. Have some class people.

Biological mother was in car accident with 4 children where her daughter died, caused by Charles, DUI.He is a previously convicted felon. He beat his ex wife and the 13 year old.For 8 years the mother raised the 3 boys by herself! The doctors reccommened a feeding tube(how ironic)for the 12 year old, and 1 year later the state of Virginia took the children from her accusing unnecessary surgery! The children were in foster care for a year and a half The STATE placed then with the "reabilitated" father and new step mother even though they had countless evaluations on the mother saying she didnt have munchausen! He fled Viginia without the courts permission and 1 year later the children were found living in filth and malnourished! The 12 years old told the police when he was hungry he was told "he was not going to get any more food" They had 13 animals in this house! The boys were made to stand in a room with strong odor of urine for punishment. These are the facts people who were there know

for all the comments I have read it is sad to read. Charles and Virginia have been good parents. The 12 year old if Kentucky would get records from VA. was in a terrible car accident in 1999. His 2 yr old sister died. The 12 yr old suffered a form of cerebal palsy from the accident to which he almost drowned and had to be revived. He and his 2 brothers were mistreated by their biological mom. These children were not STARVED by the parents. There is another reason for their undernourishment. Medical or Psychological. Wake up Kentucky. The 13 yr old removed was fine and has stated they were all fed.

I have known Ginny through internet communications. I would never have thought something of this nature from her, however I have seen recent pictures of the boys, as well as older pictures of them. Months and years ago they were healthy, all be it petite, looking children. In the past few months they have widdled away to nothing but skin and bones. I know it is hard to understand or accept that our friends may have done wrong, but I know there is no way a social worker would go into a home and come out and make the decision to remove children and lock parents in jail without probable cause. We all know they investigate, interview the children AWAY from the parents, and it clearly states these kids were examined by physicians and found to be malnourished. I would not be surprised at this point if more things dont come out, more so then just not feeding the kids. I see one person asking what about the third child? If the home was good and decent they never would have been removed.

From A Family Friend The children were abused by their biological mother & were in Foster Care in VA, for about 3 years. The father & step-mother have been investigated & monitored for over 2yrs & found to be great parents. The biological mom has Munchausen by Proxy & basically tortuned these kids. These children Finally were in a GOOD & DESCENT home!!! Now-the state of Kentucky is psychologically torturing these children because they couldn't bother to check into the kids past!!! Ask the Protective Service Workers in Prince William County Virginia , about the children & Charles & Virginia Holsinger. They are wonderful parent. If short on food the both of them would go without if needed to feed those boys. Also why is the third boy not mentions in all of this???

I feel such heartache for those children. It is a shame that children suffer at the hands of their own parents. I don't know how these parents can be rehabilitated? What can be done for people who just don't care. How do you deal with people who are just cold hearted? I am glad to know that they are now being cared for. Everyone involved in this case needs our prayers. This has nothing to do with the nature of Kentuckians, most Kentuckians are good hearted loving parents, and it has nothing to do with Politics..what matters most is the well being of all of Kentucky's children..Keeping them safe and cared for!

read the story again folks..malnourished doesn't mean not fed.wheres the follow up? does this mean starved or just badly fed. I think this is a case of ignorance and bad parenting. I'm glad the kids are going to be better taken care of..WKYT, please get some facts on this.
