KHSAA Rules Chad Jackson Ineligible after Transferring to Scott Co.

The Kentucky High School Athletic Association today ruled that Chad Jackson has been ineligible in his bid to transfer from Rose Hill Academy to Scott Co.

The KHSAA sent documents to Scott Co. earlier this week declaring Jackson's teammate at Rose Hill, Dakotah Euton, ineligible to play for Scott Co. In addition, the KHSAA sent documents notifying the school that Jackson would be allowed to play.

The KHSAA on Wednesday said there was a clerical error with Jackson's ruling and that the player was not given his waiver.

I transferred mine due to academics in district and he was deemed ineligible. I had NCLB statics and school report cards from 3 schools in our district, thus choosing what i thought was best for my child. He was ineligible due to a varisty sport. He wanted to play a different sport and the KHSAA ruled ineligible for all sports. I don't feel a child should be deemed ineligible to participate in all sports as my child. I do feel that the KHSAA should consider a different approach. We hear from the time our children are little to keep them interested in an extraccuriculum activity to keep them interested in school and other avenues in life. Rob a child of that in their junior or senior year. Too much politics in the KHSAA it's not about the Students!!

HOW DOES THE KHSAA JUSTIFY LETTING A KID LIKE TATE COX TRANSFER TO A SCHOOL IN THE SAME COUNTY THIS YEAR BUT YOU DON'T ALLOW KIDS WHO LITTERALLY MOVE? THAT'S WHAT I WANT ANSWERED.

The KHSAA is letting the kids play, just not in a district they wish to play. I think it is good that they look at these cases so that one district is not stacked with talen while others suffer. This keeps the competition balanced throughout the state instead of having coaches like Hicks pull all the talent into his district. Of course there are legitimate circumstances where people move and such but don't try to tell me these two kids wanted to transfer for the education.

Wake Up Kentucky! How many families have to go through this with the KHSAA? My daughter was denied when entering her Senior year, she was ranked first in her class and chose to transfer to a public school in a different county..all because she wanted to be challenged her senior year and take AP courses. We went through the appeal process, what a JOKE! This is all because the KHSAA did not listen to coaches when they said no to Public versus Private. What they are doing to students and parents is outrageous and not in the best interest of any student. Is this not all about money? How many students have been denied the right to play sports in KY because of KHSAA decision to keep Public versus Private...one is too many. My Opinion...It is POLITICAL. It is a way for money to be funneled to private schools by the state. Private schools dominate in sports because they know it is THE way to bring money into their system. KHSAA is denying students in KY the right to pursue happiness.
