CSX will close the railroad crossing on KY 15 at Isom on Wednesday, June 25, to replace and refurbish the concrete panels on the road.
Jay Rutherford, CSX Roadmaster for Perry, Knott, Letcher, and Floyd counties, said the work will start at 9 a.m. and be finished by 5 p.m. It is expected to take only one day. Flaggers will detour traffic to old Highway 7.
This week Rutherford’s crew is working in Letcher and Perry counties patching six crossings: two at Slemp, one at Democrat, one at Letcher, and two at Rockhouse Public Road in Hazard.
“We want to thank the folks at Highway District 12 for their assistance in keeping the public informed about our work and in helping with traffic control. These repairs are necessary and we apologize for the temporary inconvenience to motorists. We want to thank everyone for their patience as we do this work,” Rutherford said.
