Body Identified In Whitley County

An investigation is ongoing in Whitley County after a body was discovered in the middle of a road early Friday.

Someone going home from work came across the body along Cane Gap Road, 7 miles east of Williamsburg near the Gatliff community.

Authorities identified the body Friday morning as 35-year-old Larry D. Jones of Williamsburg. Police say Jones was shot three times in head, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sheriff's deputies had already been busy with another non-fatal shooting not far from there in the Frakes area.

I understand that people like to generalize the location, but the intersection of 92 and 1595 is not Frakes. It may not have been the deputies that said it, it could have been the report who did the story. Bell County does the same thing, the Pineville police will help out near the golf course at 190 and 25E and if it is something bad, they call it Frakes.

In comment to Frakes Community Member, People call hwy 1595 Frakes or Frakes road like they call 904 Gatliff Road, Gatliff is 9 miles from 92. I know out Law Enforcement was very busy yesterday evening and last night.

Its a wonder the Wynn guy isn't dead, he was shot twice in the center of his chest, they flew him out.He wouldn't tell who shot him. The two cases could be connected. I listened to all this on the scanner. I dont know either one of them but I know both familys need prayers.
