Feds, U Of L Confirm "Criminal Investigation"

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Federal prosecutors confirmed Friday that there is an ongoing criminal investigation on the University of Louisville campus, but said they could not divulge the nature of the probe.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Louisville, along with the University of Louisville, issued statements on Friday saying they were cooperating in a joint investigation.

University of Louisville spokesman John Drees declined to comment.

U.S. Attorney David Huber said in a statement that the University of Louisville instigated the investigation by contacting federal authorities.

"Normally, our policy is not to comment on criminal investigations," Huber said in the statement. "However, in dealing with a public institution of higher learning, we must be sensitive to a different community need when the investigation enters a more public stage and is naturally discovered as a result of certain events."

Neither statement gave specifics about the investigation.

Just keep reading the papers and the news online. We will all find out when they start making arrests or filing charges. Just like when they took files from fayette jail no one knew what they where really there for until they started questioning people then filing charges.
