Four Fayette County Corrections employees and one former officer have pleaded not guilty to federal charges.
"The Lexington Herald-Leader" reports that officers John McQueen, Clarence McCoy, Christine La Foe, Anthony Estep and former officer Scott Tyree pleaded not guilty in federal court yesterday. They're accused of beating inmates then trying to cover it up by falsifying documents.
The charges stem from an FBI raid of the detention center back in 2006. Four are on paid leave pending the outcome of the investigation. The fifth no longer works for the jail.
All are due back in court July 23rd.
