Corrections Officer Arrested

There's more trouble for employees at the Fayette County Detention Center.

Corrections officer Daniel Houlihan resigned on Tuesday after he was charged with promotion of contraband.

Investigators say he brought illegal drugs into the facility.

The charge against Houlihan is not connected to a federal investigation at the jail.

In that case, four other corrections employees and a former officer pleaded not guilty to allegations they beat inmates and tried to cover it up.

Houlihan first started at the detention center in 2005 but left after eight months. He returned to work there this past January.

The fayette jail has a crooked guard? No ya dont say when did that happen? Hell probally just get fired like the rest of the lot. Why not try putting him in a harder jail then maybe the new recruits will think twice.

There are very good officers at the Fayette County Detention Center. The are very professional and polite , but due to the poor leaders at the jail , (edited), a lot of not so good officers are hired , many with criminal records. I know i used to work there. The good ones are overworked and abused , but the bad ones steal , sleep with inmates and bring in contraband while the Mayor ignores the jail. Things will NEVER change unless those 3 administrators are fired.

Like I said before, the only difference between the criminals and the guards depends on which side of the bars you are on.
