Shoot Hoops Not Drugs Basketball Camp Is Held

Two groups in eastern Kentucky teamed up to help kids stay away from drugs.

The Shoot Hoops Not Drugs Basketball Camp took place at Letcher Central High School, sponsored by Operation UNITE.

Volunteers from West Care of Pikeville were also on hand to help with the kids.

Former U.K. Basketball Player Jeff Sheppard was there as always and says the dedication that both groups show means a lot.

“The volunteers from West Care in Pikeville have done a wonderful job. This is their second camp and they just do a tremendous job working with these students, these kids,” Sheppard said.

Operation UNITE puts on several of these camps each year.
