Fire Hydrant Hit By Car

It was quite a scene early Thursday morning in Lexington after a car hit a fire hydrant.

Police say the driver responsible fled the scene after hitting the hydrant at Georgetown Street and Newtown Pike.

The impact caused a geyser to form.

Kentucky-American Water workers responded to fix the hydrant.

No other damage was reported.
