Strong Storm Knocks Down Trees, Power Lines

Strong storms on Thursday afternoon left damage across several Kentucky counties.

Tree branches blocked part of Ironworks Road in Fayette County.

The damage was a little more extensive in Franklin County.

Along Duncan road, the storm knocked down trees and power lines.

People who live in the area say the storm only lasted about 10 minutes but it was very intense.

A power pole even snapped in half, cutting off service to some customers. Utility workers got to the scene quickly and restored service.

There are also reports that a man was struck by lightning in Franklin County. Officials say a man was taken to the hospital but say they aren't sure at this time if his injuries were caused by a lightning strike.
