Police: Man crashes car into house, injures child

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - A man faces charges after police say he crashed his car into a house, injuring a child inside.

The crash happened just before 6 p.m. Friday.

Barbourville Police say after the crash, 38-year-old Steven Johnson ran off.

Police say an 11-year-old inside the home was injured, and was taken to the Knox County Hospital. That child's condition is not known.

Police say a 7-year-old child and a woman, who were also inside the home, were not injured.

Police say around 7:30 p.m., they found Johnson in the emergency room of the Knox County Hospital.

Barbourville Police arrested Johnson, and charged him with wanton endangerment, criminal mischief, and leaving the scene of an accident.

Police haven't said what led to the crash.
