WASHINGTON (WKYT) - Kentucky Senator Rand Paul has been a vocal opponent of military action in Syria.
On Tuesday night, after President Obama's address to the nation, Senator Paul said there's no clearly defined mission in Syria.
"Americans by a large majority want nothing to do with the Syrian civil war," Paul said. "We fail to see a national security interest in a war between a leader who gasses his own citizens, and Islamic rebels who are killing Christians."
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, of Kentucky, has said he also opposes military action in Syria.
