Couple Sentenced For Killing Toddler

A Madison County couple now knows how long they'll have to spend in prison for killing a two-year-old girl.

On Monday morning, a judge sentenced Ronnie Crabtree to 45 years, while Verona Brinegar received a 35 year sentence.

Police say Brinegar's daughter, Callie, was suffocated last summer.

A jury found Crabtree and Brinegar guilty of murder and criminal abuse earlier this month.

Both will be eligible for parole after serving 85 percent of their sentence.

They should die the same way that baby died. What is the world coming to when a mother will let someone harm her child and assist in her death.

I hope the other inmates find out very quickly what they did, and I hope the guards turn their backs.

Our commonwealth's attorney decided that they did'nt deserve the death penalty.I think when it comes time for his re-election we need to give his career the death penalty.

are you saying that the two yr. old will live again in 35 to45 yrs? if not they should serve until it is possible for the child to return whole no bruises or broken bones there is no sane reason for an adult of anyage to kill a child none what so ever

Everyone needs to let politicians know what they think, then maybe the laws will get tougher.

People who wish the death penalty on others are no better than the criminals they seek to exterminate. In fact, they're cut from the same vengeful animal-like mold.
