Man Injured In House Fire

A Richmond man is in the hospital after he ran back into his burning home, thinking his wife was inside.

The fire broke out on Moberly Avenue in Richmond early Friday morning.

The man's daughter tells 27 NEWSFIRST the victim was asleep, woke up inside the burning home and couldn't find his wife.

He ran outside looking for her and ran back inside.

Jeffery White suffered serious smoke inhalation, according to firefighters, and was taken to UK Hospital. He was listed in serious condition as of noon Friday.

His wife was down the street taking a shower, according to her stepdaughter.

The home didn't have power or running water.

Firefighters are investigating the cause.
