Louisville Man Killed Late Friday By Train

LOUISVILLE, KY -- A man was fatally struck by a train around 10:49 p.m. last night at Frankfort Avenue and Cornell Place, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal in its Saturday edition.

Louisville Police told the C-J the man, approximately 59 years old, was apparently spotted sitting on the railroad tracks, Louisville Metro Police spokesman Phil Russell said. His identity has not been released.

Police are continuing to investigate. It’s too soon to know whether the death was accidental or intentional, Russell said.

A toxicology test will be performed on the body, reports the Louisville Courier-Journal.
