Congressman Hal Rogers To Face Independent Challenger This Fall

It's official: longtime Republican Congressman Hal Rogers will face an independent challenger this fall.

Jim Holbert has filed the papers that put him on the November ballot in the Fifth District.

Holbert is a former military helicopter pilot who now flies for an emergency medical service.

Rogers is seeking his 15th term in Congress. He was first elected in 1980.

I hope Holbert sweeps the floor with Rogers. He has done nothing to get the 19% of Pulaski Countians out of poverty or educate the 34% of us with no high school diploma. We have no use for him.

It's my opinion that if Mr. Rogers wants this office again he should (shall) have no problem getting it. This man has done so much for the state of Ky. and so many individuals that about the only way he doesn't get the office is, he just doesn't want it. Hey I'm a democrat and I would vote for him.
