Workers at Lexington restaurant refuse would-be robber's demands

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington Police are searching for a man they say tried to rob a restaurant Friday night.

Police say just after 10:30 p.m. Friday, a man came into the Wong Wong Chinese Restaurant on Southland Drive, gave employees a note demanding money, and showed a weapon.

However, police say the workers refused to comply with the would-be robber's demands. They say he left the restaurant without getting anything. No one was injured.

Police followed the man's tracks in some snow, but they think he eventually got in a vehicle and left the area. He has not been arrested.

Police say they're stepping up patrols around nearby gas stations and other businesses, thinking the man could possibly try to rob another business.
