Workers: Two Area Starbucks Locations To Close

Getting your caffeine fix may soon be a little more difficult in central Kentucky.

27 NEWSFIRST has learned that some of the Starbucks locations slated for closing are apparently in the Lexington metro area.

Location managers have referred our calls to a district manager who has not returned our call, but some workers have told us anonymously that at least one store in Lexington and another in the region will close.

In all, Starbucks is closing 600 of its outlets as it responds to the economic situation.

The stores that are closing are the one on Upper St across from Fazoli's, and the one in Paris.

The Starbucks in London is NOT closing, it is doing very well. I know the managers there and they said it is one of the better grossing stores so far.

Hahaha. Waste your money on corporate coffee! McDonalds, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Gas Stations - are you people seriously too lazy to brew a pot at home, or can you not figure out how to run the pot. Large can of coffee = $5-$7 dollars, lasts about a month. Cheap coffee maker = $15-$19. Do the math.

Give me the 1.00 cup of coffee at McDonald's any day of the week. Starbucks coffee stinks.

that What (or his former self, Wow) in Richmond isn't a Starbucks supporter. I had one cup of Starbucks because it was the only place on the Florida turnpike service plaza that sold coffee at one time. It sucked as far as I was concerned. I said give me a small coffee and they said something like you mean Grande' and I said NO a small. People who go to Starbucks are pretentious, arrogant, self-centered richard craniums who think their "you know what" doesnt' stink. Close all of them and just give me the 59 cent cup of coffee at the gas station.

I love the irony in all this. Starbucks was asked to send our troops coffee. They refused, they didn't agree with the war. Reguardless, support our troops. Only serves them right.

the one in London just opened a few months ago and is already closing. never got off the ground and had poor turnout and local support. Then came the high gas prices, etc.

$5 and $10 cup of coffees and they wonder why their customers are going broke. Guess they are too good for 99cent gas station blend.
