Customers Wait In Line For New iPhone

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - Apple's newest iPhone goes on sale today
in the U.S. The 3G phone is touted by Apple as running at twice the
speed of the first generation phone. As it tries to woo consumers,
it has cut the price. The entry level phone is $199 for an 8
gigabyte model.

That's compared to the $599 pricetag when the earlier version
phone was launched last year.

Along with working on third-generation wireless networks, the
new iPhone includes improved support for Microsoft's widely used
Exchange corporate e-mail program.

In addition, Apple is allowing third-party developers to build
applications for the iPhone.

Apple says it has sold about 6 million iPhones since last year.
It hopes to sell 10 million by the end of 2008.

Nope...they won't lose any abilities to function. I don't think anyone claimed they would. They simply want to be a part of the excitement. $200-$300 is a bargain for the computing power this device packs. I'm guessing you probably don't know much about the iPhone at all.

Obama supporters no doubt. Who else has so much spare time on their hands? After picking up their phone; paid for by their parental allowance; they will go back to mama's house and to their basement command centers. An iPhone you can believe in.

Ahhh, the sheep being led to the slaughterhouse...well OK, maybe not the slaughterhouse, but geez people. Is there anything more indicative of what is wrong with this society than standing in line overnight for a friggin phone ?!? There is an old line that says "Anyone in America who is broke has severely overestimated the intelligence of the buying public". That could not be more true. Style over substance, it should be the new natinal motto.

Come on! Waiting in line for an iphone? I mean, will these people lose the ability to function in today's society unless they get one of these? Will they be lost and walking around in a stupor, or just curl up in a ball and weep uncontrolably? Unless your a corporate big whig, work on wall street, etc.etc., it seems comical to wait in line for one of these gadgets. Ha Ha, i'm still waiting for the machine that chews up my food and feeds it to me, god bless capitalism.
