Fast Food Workers Hospitalized

A fast food restaurant in southeastern Kentucky is closed, after several workers and a customer were rushed to the hospital.

Emergency crews were called to the Long John's Silvers in Letcher County Friday night. We're told six workers and one customer were taken to the Whitesburg Hospital for treatment.

Officials say they suspect carbon monoxide may have caused the people to get sick. All of them are expected to recover. Firefighters are still at the restaurant trying to figure out what caused the incident.

I am not sure if this can happen or not but has anyone thought that maybe a worker or a customer came into the resturant that had been cooking meth or something like that. Maybe the product saturated their clothes and was lingering in the air when they came into the resturant. I have heard that meth is very potent and can cause alot of problems for the people who make it. I am sure if this is a possibility that the authoritys have checked into it.

At least smoking can't be to blame, maybe it was someone with their bottle. Let's stop smokers, but let's put the drunks on the road and in the buildings.

How many times do these folks have to be told "Don't leave your car running in the restaurant".

Being from the Whitesburg area, I take great pleasure in informing you, Fred, that Letcher County was one of the first three places in the great state of Kentucky to pass a smoking ban.

Nope Fred, they don't have a smoking section. Whitesburg has a ban on smoking inside public places.

I'll bet they have a smoking section! That 's what did it!
