Funeral Set For Soldier From Lexington

We now know some the details about the funeral for a Lexington soldier, killed while fighting in Iraq.

22-year-old Corporal William McMillan III will be buried Saturday at Camp Nelson Cemetery in Jessamine county.

Other arrangements are pending but will be handled by Kerr Brothers Funeral Home.

McMillan died Tuesday when his vehicle struck a roadside bomb. He was supposed to come home in September for a visit.

He was a member of the Army's 2nd Brigade, 25th Infantry division, and family members say this was his first tour of duty to Iraq.

McMillan leaves behind his new wife, Elizabeth. They had been married for a year-and-a-half.

I am so sorry for this family's loss. This soldier was a hero and I hope that these families do not have to keep enduring the loss of these brave men. One of those brave men is my brother in Afghanistan. I am praying for this family, and my brother, and I hope all will pray for these soldiers.
