Corbin Firefighters Hurt In House Fire Say They Are Lucky

Two Corbin firefighters recently hurt in a house fire say they're very lucky their injuries were not worse.

Jack Partin and Aric Young were hurt when the floor beneath them collapsed and they fell to the basement.

This happened at a fire on Sherwood Court in Corbin.

Partin suffered a bad cut to the head, a twisted knee, and possibly a cracked rib. Young is already back on the job after recovering from a back injury.

“We're lucky. We're real lucky. I think, blessed, Yeah, blessed. Cause you know, you always see it on TV, hear about people getting hurt. It never happens around here,” says Jack Partin and Aric Young.

The two survived a fall that's been fatal in many other places.

Lexington firefighter Chuck Williams was killed in a similar accident in February 1997.
