Kentucky Soldier Killed In Afghanistan

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - The military says a Kentucky soldier is among nine who were killed when their remote outpost in eastern
Afghanistan was attacked.
The Department of Defense said Wednesday that 21-year-old Pfc.
Sergio S. Abad of Morganfield died on July 13.
Abad and eight other soldiers died from wounds suffered when their post was attacked by small arms fire and rocket propelled grenades.
They were assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 503d Infantry Regiment
(Airborne), 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team, Vicenza, Italy.
