Starbucks Closing Multiple Stores In Kentucky

Starbucks has named all 600 company-owned stores it plans to close in a push to weed out unprofitable locations including one in Somerset.

Other Kentucky stores that are on the chopping block include locations in Paris, Danville, Louisville, and Lexington.

The move to close the stores is a turnabout from Starbucks' aggressive expansion plans.

The company curtailed those plans as it saw traffic and its profits decline recently during the economic downturn.
