Vehicle Crashes Into Dry Cleaning Business

Police responded to a wild scene on Friday morning after an SUV ran into a Lexington business.

It happened a few minutes after 10:00 at Newport Cleaners off Richmond Road. That's near the Squires Road intersection.

The owner says a customer was trying to park in front of the store and accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake. The vehicle crashed into the building.

An employee in the store at the time wash shaken up but was not hurt. The driver of the SUV was also uninjured.

There wasn't much damage to the vehicle, but there was extensive damage done to the building and now workers have a big mess to clean up.

Despite the mess, Newport Cleaners remained open on Friday.

I'm out in Oregon watching the news video on the internet-my brother and sister-in-law own the business and my niece was the employee that almost had her life taken from her - Thank you Lord for watching over her. I am glad that that everyone is O.K. - buildings can be repaired! Keep up the good news coverage WKYT!

Well at least the driver could leave their soiled pants at the accident scene to be cleaned.
