American Idol Hopefuls To Flock To Louisville This Weekend

Thousands of people who hope to become big stars will be flocking to Louisville this weekend,

Registration for American Idol auditions starts at 8:00 Saturday morning at Freedom Hall. Singers will be given numbered wristbands that will determine what order they'll go in on Monday. Registration is open 24 hours a day until Monday, July 21st at 8:00 a.m.

20,000 contestants are expected to belt it out for producers on Monday.

Auditions are open to people between the ages of 16 and 28, who are eligible to work in the U.S.

Those contestants who make it past the first round will go on to sing for Randy, Paula and Simon at Churchill Downs in September.
