New Animal Shelter Is Set To Be Built

A new animal shelter is set to be built in Pike County.

Members of the Pike County Humane Society say they purchased more than four acres on Lykins Creek to build the new shelter.

Officials say they used their funds to purchase the land, so they are raising money to help build the shelter.

Donations for the new shelter can be sent to Pike County Humane Society, 130 Chesnut Drive, Pikeville, KY 41501. Anyone wanting to work with the Humane Society on this project should call Donna Stratton 606-432-4951.

this little shelter deserves this new land and building. they work hard and smart with what they have. if you have ever been to the shelter on pound puppy drive, you wonder how they have worked there with the smell of that sewage plant. congratulations to all of you and the animals and wishing you many years of success with your new shelter.
