Alcohol Not A Factor In Traffic Death Of Ky. Girl

A Tennessee sheriff's detective was not under the influence of alcohol when his unmarked patrol car hit and killed a Kentucky girl.

That's according to a prosecutor who just received alcohol tests on Sergeant Ron Killings.

Police say 11-year-old Lakeisha White was crossing a Murfreesboro, Tennessee street last week, when Killings' car hit her.

The Hopkinsville girl later died at a hospital. She was in Tennessee, visiting her grandmother.

Killings is now on routine leave pending further investigation, but police have said White darted in front of the car.
