An Ohio diver is facing charges for taking an eight-ton boulder from the Ohio River.

A special grand jury in Greenup County has indicted 54-year-old David Vetter with a felony charge for helping bring up Indian Head Rock.

Another man, Ohio historian Steve Shaffer, plead not guilty Thursday to the same charge.

Kentucky officials say the rock was a protected archaeological object that belonged to Kentucky.

The rock now sits in a city garage in Portsmouth, Ohio.
