A Richmond couple, accused of leaving their eight-month-old baby home alone, will not make a court appearance for another few days.

23-year-old Tiffany Alcorn and 25-year old James Williams were supposed to be arraigned on Friday, but since they bonded out of jail, that will be pushed back.

Early Wednesday morning, police were called to Manna Drive for a domestic dispute. Police say when they arrived, someone told them the couple left their child at home.

Once police got into the home, they say they found the baby girl alone, crying on the living room floor.

Police say Alcorn was intoxicated at the time.

Both Alcorn and Williams have been charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Minor. The baby is now in the care of her grandmother.

Becky, I have to agree with you , she was more worried about getting high, married or not , she would have still wanted to get high right.. I agree with you , as I said in my first post, marriage does not make someone a better parent. Thanks for your post ..

Ya know what? Republican, conservative views have failed the entire country thus far, and this case is no different. WE have a "mother" who is more concerneed about her high than her child. Hello? Marriage would fix this how?

I believe that is a shallow remark by saying that since they are not married they MUST be getting state benifits . There is even married people who are getting assistance, in this day and time it is not uncommon for this to happen with the prices of gas and food going up. I guess that in some people's eyes , it is best to be married.I agree , the baby should not have been left alone , but let's not forget the lady in NC who killed her 2 kids , she was married , and the one in TX who drowned hers in the tub.. she was married also. I do not see not being married a problem in the case , just that they were messed up and unable to care for their child, I am sure it would have happened had they been married. I was a single mother , my kids were taken very well care of , and I was not on assistance. Some people have no other option but to get a bit of help.

Makes me sick to my stomach that a so called "mother" could leave her baby alone! That is NOT what a MOTHER is. I agree 100% with the 2nd posted comment, people that do these things to innocent children that by the way didn't ask to be brought into this world, it should be mandatory to have them steralized!!!!!!

To GUESS WHAT - to some degree, I agree with you. Too many people, including celebrities, have the "natural order" backwards. They have a baby and then get married, if they ever do. If more people would get married FIRST, then start a family, it makes you wonder how many children would have better, safer homes, and how much dependence on social services would be reduced.

Hmmm...at least they did know where the child was, unlike to other mother who couln't remember where her three year old was...I think mandatory sterilization is a perfectly reasonable option. You can't stop their stupidity, but you can at least prevent them from bringing children into their screwed up lives.

They're not married...go figure. No dysfunctional atmosphere there! Yeah I know, marriage doesn't make people better parents, but at least there is a legal commitment. This just shows irresponsible people. Who wants to guess if they are on government assistance?
