Ky. Libertarians "Not Ready" For Decision On Landham

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - The head of Kentucky's Libertarian Party said party leaders are not ready to take action against U.S. Senate hopeful Sonny Landham for a series of anti-Arab and anti-Muslim remarks.

Ken Moellman said on Saturday a decision on whether Landham would run as a Libertarian on the November ballot against U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell and Democrat Bruce Lunsford would come on Monday or Tuesday. He was speaking on "The Weekly Filibuster," an Internet radio program on politics with student panelists.

In an interview Thursday with The Associated Press, Landham advocated turning away Arabs from entering this country and said the U.S. should have bombed Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iran and Afghanistan after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. He repeatedly referred to Arabs and Muslims using offensive language.

His comments were similar to those he had made a day earlier on "The Weekly Filibuster."

Addressing Landham's comments on Saturday, Moellman said, "Obviously the party does not stand for that."

He described the Libertarian Party as "pro-immigration or pro-legal immigration."

I personally, even though I despise what this man stands for, hope the Libertarians allow him on the ballot. He will take away votes from Mitch McConnell and give Lunsford the victory.

Sonny Landham keep on speaking your mind and the truth. Sonny is just saying out loud what a lot of folks are thinking but will not speak due to cowardice or because they are latter day Obamites.

I agree with Sonny on not letting any more people from the Middle East to immigrate into America......they want to practice their customs and beliefs which are not welcomed in the USA. As a matter of fact we need a 7 year moratorium on ALL IMMIGARTION in this country. I don't care if you are from Ireland or Mozambique, we have let entirely to many foriegners come to this country since WW 2 and it is time to put a stop to it.

Clearly Mr. Landham is dillusional and irrational. Despite how someone might feel about Arabs, launching the U.S. into World War III, or isolating legitimate immigrants is unconstitutional. I don't know what the leadership of Libertarain party feels they have to think about!
