Part Of New Circle Road To Get Face Lift

A major project began Monday night on New Circle Road on Lexington's northside.

State road crews are re-paving New Circle between Newtown Pike and Leestown Road.

Crews will also add a barrier wall to that stretch of New Circle, as well as work on the Georgetown Road exit ramps.

That area is not able to have cable barriers like the rest of the road because of the way the median is shaped in that area. Road department officials say Concrete barriers are a better option along that stretch of road.

Most of the work will take place overnight for the next six months.

Well at least this will benefit the folks of the area after the World Equestrian Games are long gone!
