OMG! Are you now suggesting that there is now a cover up?

I agree that both families are suffering, but the Lyons boy needs to pay for taking a man's life. Also Doc needs to answer for his advice and and helping too cover up

I realize that everyone has an opinion about this tragedy & I know that the Helton family must be heartbroken, but I believe that they're not the only ones hurting. Do you people think that just because the Lyon's family are wealthy that they don't have problems just like everyone? Also, they lost a son & I'm sure they know how the Helton's feel, but how can you blame them for what has happened? Matthew is not 16 years old, he is an adult. Also, what parent wouldn't try to help their child regardless of how old they are? Instead of crucifying Matthew & his family maybe the doctors that make it so easy for people to get 'legal' drugs should be put in that hot spot! My heart goes out to both families, & you're in my thoughts & prayers. For those of you who want to point fingers & criticize, you may find yourself in this situation one of these days.

First of all concerned in Magoffin.. I would absolutely not go pointing fingers at the Family of this boy.. None of us decide how any one person turns out in life... When raising children you just try to live right, teach them the right things, and just hope and pray each day that they turn out well in life. Noone has control over how they turn out! The Lyons family has indeed been the most loving, giving, and understanding bunch of individuals. I firmly believe that they have infact tried to get their son on the right track... and to say that his brother and uncle are "Special Deputies" in the community is true.. Find out exactly what you have to do to do this! It's a volunteer type job... They buy their own cars, gas, uniforms, and equipment, and then go out risking their own lives to help others... FOR $00.00 (NO PAY).. Sounds to me like that would be a quality type people I would want in my family!

I personally know the lyon family, and they have done everything possible to get their son the help he desparately needed. And as far as their other son's situation, you are absolutely misinformed. Their other son, Paul, was killed when a drunk driver hit Paul's Jeep as the drunkard was pulling into the beer store to get more drunk. The Lyon family are the most caring, loving parents i have ever been around, and this situation is a tragedy, but to blame the them is completely unjustified when I know what they have been through since little paul's death and Matthew's problems.

This is another sad example of wealthy parents failure to get their children drug treatment. The Lyons' has refused to allow this boy to get the help he has needed for years. He just got out of rehab before he completed his treatment and killed an innocent man. And the sad thing is, he won't pay for his crime because his family has money. Plus his uncle and brother are both "special deputies" for Magoffin County.

why haven't anybody ask if he was on drugs.didn't he just got out of jail awhile ago.wonder if this brings back memories for the lyons family,of the man they put in jail over their other son.that man went to jail because he was pulling into the beer barn when their son hit him and he got the blame.
