A man is recovering after being hit along a busy Jessamine County road.

Police say Donald Plavnick was working on his van in the emergency lane of Harrodsburg road on Tuesday afternoon when a truck hit him.

That impact launched Plavnick into the air and knocked him unconscious.

He was taken to the hospital, but his injuries are said to be non-life threatening.

The driver of the truck that hit him was charged with having no proof of insurance, but faces no other charges. Police do not think alcohol was involved.
