Pizza Hut Franchise Company Files for Bankruptcy

One of Pizza Hut's largest franchise companies, which owns several eastern Kentucky restaurants, is filing for bankruptcy.

The Courier Journal is reporting Midland Food Services filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection late Wednesday. Midland has five restaurants in eastern Kentucky and one in South Williamson, West Virginia.

Minimum wage increases, the rising cost of ingredients and unfavorable lease terms were sited as reasons why the company filed papers for the second time.

Midland filed Chapter 11 back in October 2000.

south williamson is in ky, not wv. i cant see min wage being a part of this. average people need to earn a decent living wage. pizza hut has always been overpriced so i wont buy the wage argument. however ive spent my fair share at the place. not much to choose from in this part of the state. i hate to see it go. last thing we need is more unemployed. but with gas prices and rising costs of everything in general, its hard for small towns like this to survive. in the end, walmart gets most of our money. just not enough people in this area to support it all.

Gregory- you might want to do a little reading before your commenting. Why blame Frakfort- the Federal Minimum Wage Law is $6.55 also.

well I cant say im sorry,Pizza hut will take a big ball of dough the size of a basket ball and roll it out and smear some red looking stain on it and then sparingly sprinkle it with a few vegies and some meat so small you cant see it and then bread sticks with cheese if it is cheese looks more like window caulking, and if you dont got intestine problems and heart disease you will have once your guts gets that python of dough threw your body and then they look at you that will be may many many many dollars you could have paid a elct bill for that ball of dough to swallowed it takes three days to pass threw you no wander they are going bankrupt its sicking and over priced for a ball of dough to make you sick.

Hope you all are happy in Frankfort for making it harder and harder to run a small business by increasing the minimum wage. You should have tried to figure ways to lower gas prices instead.
