Man robs Anderson County gas station at gunpoint

ANDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - The Anderson County Sheriff's Office is asking for help finding a man who robbed a gas station Friday afternoon.

The robbery happened just before 2:30 p.m. at the Parkway Marathon at the intersection of U.S. 127 and Old Joe Road.

The sheriff says a man wearing a black ski mask walked into the gas station, showed a small caliber revolver, and demanded money from the clerk.

Police identified the suspect as George "Daniel" Cheatham of Salvisa, Kentucky.

Cheatham is between 32 and 33, standing 5'11", last seen driving southbound on US 127 in a Blue 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, with Kentucky license plate 477 BEJ.

A cash reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest in this case.

Police say Cheatham is considered armed and dangerous.
