Pawn Shop Is Shut Down

Police shut down a Perry County pawn shop, raid homes, and make arrests after investigators say workers were dealing drugs out of the store.

UNITE officers say the Bulan community is a hot spot for drugs and they traced most of the buys back to Johnny's Swap Shop.

Investigators say the owner Johnny Ray Bryant was selling and trading for pills.

Thursday afternoon, police searched his home and two others.

They arrested Bryant and at least four others.

People at the nearby businesses say they're glad to see the business go.

“It's really good they're getting this off the street, right here in our little area anyways. It's been going here for quite a while. I'm just glad to see they're doing something about it,” Carol Toler said.

The suspects are being held on a $100,000 bond.

Police are searching for other suspects.

Those arrested include:

• Johnny Ray Bryant.

• Fred Caudill

• Darrell Jones

• Robert Jones

• James "Hippie" Long
