UPDATE: It will be Monday before a mother whose children were found in filth appears in court.

Police charged Kahyleaha Alcorn with second-degree criminal abuse.

Pulaski County Sheriff's deputies say they found the woman's children living in a filthy trailer full of flies and cat feces. Deputies also say they found a two year old child with a diaper that hadn't been changed in awhile.

Neighbors tell us they contacted police after seeing one of the children playing in broken glass.

A Pulaski County woman is in jail facing 2nd degree criminal abuse charges after police say they found a small child living in unsanitary conditions.

Pulaski County Sheriff's Department responded to Four Winds Trailer Park Lot Wednesday morning.

The child's mother, 27-year old Kahyleaha Alcorn, was arrested on scene and her child was taken to the Department of Social Services.

A boy, under the age of two years old was found standing inside the trailer, at a broken window. The child had dried blood on his hand from a cut apparently by handling the broken glass.

Police say once inside they smelled a horrible stench coming from flies and cat feces scattered throughout the trailer. Deputies also say the child had on a diaper with feces excreting to his legs.

Neighbors say the family had problems before.

I spelled checked it steve and it came back saying you were illiterate and probably live in a trailer, oops I mean trailor. Any female who treats a child like that is NO lady. You sound like someone who hates police and thinks they'll lie about a child? Guess the skeletons in your closet were found by them at one time or another which gave you a distaste for police. If I don't matter to you, why did you reply? You surely didn't prove anything to me. By the way, I'm from Eastern KY but got the [edited] out of there. I got tired of illiterates like you who think the police are always out to get them.

ok mr. or misses corrector, seems like your more interested in the way someone spells than you are about the child. and all you know is what the police reported to the reporters who in turn reported to the public. i have yet to hear from the accuessed. you or no one else have the right to judge anyone with knowing the facts. and i do live in a (trailor), thanks for the heads up on the spelling. as if it matters to you, because you sure don't matter to me. does it make anyone less than you , the fact that they may misspell a word or two. its not about the spelling or grammer, its about the child, and maybe a sick lady, yes i said lady, because no one has proven otherwise as of yet.so put that in your pipe and smoke it.spell check this.

Just more children for DCF to destroy! Poor things come out of homes where they're neglected and exposed to God know's what then they'll just send the "Mommy" to parenting classes and order her to clean up the place (which wont last long) then she'll just get them back. Then they may go back to DCF again, in which they'll just get caught up in red tape and throwed from pillar to post till they become 18 then they're tossed out to fend for themselves, THEN thier children will end up in the care of DCF! Look folks I've been a foster parent. I WONT ever do it again. They dont want you to take these poor kids and love them they just want them out of thier hair. Most of the social workers are just as bad as the parents they take these kids from in the first place!

Sterlize her and throw her in a pit somewhere! I swear I think that there should be an island in the middle of nowhere that we dump those that abuse children. That way we don't have to pay for thier upkeep and for the people that kill a child, death right then and there. No mental evaluations, no plea deals. These people are scum and do not deserve to be walking with those of us that are civilized. As far as the goverments role in the situation, I would have to say that the real issue is that the only way that you can get Gov. assistance is to not be bring in any money at all, people that work are just screwed. What kind of incentive is that for people? However with that being said any parent or any person that would abuse/neglect a child is trash.

I think that everyone who is being so judgemental should stop a second and ask GOD for forgiveness...We should be praying for the woman and the kids...I know its a sad situation, and that it shouldnt go unnoticed, but we arent the ones who should judge her or decide her fate..Noone is perfect and we all make mistakes..whether its drugs, psychological problems or whatever, she also deserves the help she so desparetely needs..Just because we make bad choices in life, dont make us bad people..we are all human!!! Instead of being so harsh toward people, we should keep them close to our hearts and pray for them, no matter what the situation may be..especially the little children..Jail is not always the answer to everything, it just causes taxpayers money to house inmates..Why not get to the source of things and put her in rehab or get her the help this matter calls for..Shes just like any other human..She can change also!!! So PRAY for the woman instead of calling her trailer trash!!!
