Copper Theft Knocks Radio Sation Off The Air

A copper thief knocked an Ashland radio station off the air for a time Thursday morning.

Morning DJ Mark Justice from WLGC says the FM station went off the air at about 3am Thursday morning.

Justice says the station was told someone stole about 500 feet of digital phone cable from the Smith Branch area in Greenup County.

We’re told about 600 phone customers are also without service.

Justice says a repair crew got the station back on the air around 10am.

Justice also said this proves no one is immune from the epidemic that is copper theft.
