The West Care Kentucky Homeless Shelter in Pikeville is celebrating 35 years of helping people get back on their feet.
The Shelter's Director, Sharon Yates, says they try to learn about every homeless person's situation and make sure they never end up without a home again.
She says the shelter helps people with GED classes and drug and alcohol counseling. Yates says the event was about celebrating several accomplishments.
Yates says, “Everyday you have a positive story here. This is one of those places that I think everyday improves your outlook.”
Yates says the event also allows people to see what West Care has to offer.
