Burnside's Mayor Arrested After Chase

The mayor of Burnside is behind bars in Pulaski County for allegedly running from police. Charles Fourman is charged with fleeing and evading and wanton endangerment.

It all started early Sunday morning in Somerset. Police first stopped him near the mall. Fourman said he was on his way to the hospital for a cut on his arm.

However, police say Fourman passed up the emergency room and continued on. Police finally stopped him with stop sticks in Russel County and arrested him. Police say that at this time they do no think drugs or alcohol were a factor.

No word yet on what this will mean for Fourman's status as Burnside's mayor, but the city council is meeting Sunday night to discuss the incident.

I knew once booze started being sold down here that all this kind of stuff would happen. Its time to make burnside dry again to get rid of these silly crimes that are going on down here in this part of the state.

I think it is in the best interest of all, being the Mayor, his family and the good people of Burnside that he resign.

I live near the Villager Resort and since the lake level has dropped I have noticed the resort doesn't have many people staying the last two years. Maybe he is suffering from financial problems. We never know........

Things like this goes on in allmost every small town, in the mountian regions! People in these areas do live in fear of our own elected officals, and thats a shame and it should be a crime! The Law in the mountians is called the (BUDDY-SYSTEM)! This man here has A title MAYOR, he is still bound by the laws of the land, or is he? Or mabe he is one of those that controll the law? He should be dismissed, period! I WANT CHANGE FOR OUR COUNTRY, NO MORE EXCUSES FOR THE OFFICALS! JUSTICE, FREEDOM AND EQUALITY FOR THE MOUNTIAN! PEOPLE!

I love how everyone judges before knowing the whole story! This guy is a very nice guy, I drove a bus for years and those who say he speeds on the bus are simpy put, WRONG! He has been an outstanding guy, no alcohol, no drugs.. How do you all know what was going on in his life? How do you know he wasn't suffering somthing medical? Everyone of you should cast the first stone!.. He is simply a very nice guy, he messed up, but until you know the whole story keep your opinions to yourself!
