High School Student Hospitalized After Fight

A teenager is in the hospital after a fight at a Lexington high school football game.

Fayette County School officials tell 27NEWSFIRST a fight broke out between two Dunbar High School students. We're told another student, who was expelled from school, jumped in the altercation and started hitting one student. That boy was taken to UK Hospital where he's said to be in fair condition.

Police are still looking for the boy who attacked him. He is wanted on assault and trespassing charges. None of the names of the people involved have been released because they are minors.

Anonymus from Richmond,September 1. First of all I am not DUMB! Your child could have been the immature one that was standing there watching it. Second of all there are teachers at the gate, but they could've been new teachers and didn't know that this boy was expelled, and there were parents at the game taking money, so how would they know he was expelled. Yes there are ways to keep expelled kids off of Dunbar's Campus but, if the boy snuck into the game to fight and stayed away from police and administration, they wouldn't be able to kick him out because they didn't know he was there.

The boy that lay in the hospital is the one that started the whole thing to begin with. The same boy tried to start a fight at the beginning of the game and and was broken up by me. He was at the game for one reason. Now granted it should never have gotten as far as it did. But that is where the adults have to take control of these situations, this did not occur in a secluded area it was right next to the concession stands at halftime.

Well we have jails for adults and no jails for people under 18 years old that is not fair, we should have jails for minors with toys and coloring books and things that minors enjoy it is past time for jail for minors if they learn this maby they will think well we are not out of range of incarceration Yes jail for minors.

Come on now.....the school should have expected something just for the mere fact that Dunbar was playing BSHS. There should be more law enforcement presence with school law enforcement.

It is time to start naming the minors involved. We keep coddling them and they know since they are juveniles, not much can be done. A little public embarrasment is a good thing. You name adults whether or not you know if they are guilty, so why not the minors? Makes no sense to me. The juveniles just keep getting more brazen each day.

This was more than a typical fight. The student was beaten with brass knuckles. My wife walked out of the rest room, screamed just before the attackers went running. My wife told me that people were cheering, just watching or walking by shaking theirs heads. Finally others answered her pleas and began to help. Is this the way we would want others to respond if our child was laying bleeding on the ground?

Lauren, why don't you open your eyes and stop being so dumb??? This fight could have been broken up, but instead people have to be immature and just stand there and cheer it on. It all could have been prevented. And what kind of school is this if it lets expelled children on school property anyway??? If that was my child lying in the hospital bed I'd getting a lawyer and going after that school!!
