AG Investigating High Gas Prices

Some gas stations are under the watchful eye of the Kentucky Attorney General's office.

Jack Conway's office has confirmed its investigation of gas prices, originally just in Louisville, has now been expanded statewide.

It will look at recent prices charged statewide, including Tuesday's sudden spike in prices that some analyst have linked to the possibility of Hurricane Ike hitting the Gulf coast. Prices went up Tuesday roughly 25 cents even though crude oil prices dropped.

The A.G.'s office has sent out nine subpoenas requesting information into the wholesale prices of gas in both the Louisville and statewide markets.

Those companies have 27 days to respond.

I hear T Boone calling for N. Gas use.But in Kentucky no one can buy N. gas.Because they ship it out of here. You will never go anywhere if you wait for Ky.Gas Companys to allow you to buy it.

Interesting my rational and civil comment regarding the ineffectiveness of our legal/judicial system to handle this particular problem as a whole was not posted by the station. The AG has to step in a 'say' they are looking into this to quell the public outrage. The thing to remember about our own Government is all about 'CYA' or that is 'cover your own a**' just like any other business because they don't want to say outright 'we just can't really do anything about this that's really going to stick in the long run'. If it were me or you I'd say we would already be in jail still waiting for the court date to be set, but big companies? Good luck. These companies have 27 days to respond but in the meantime I and everyone else who works for an honest living has to give it up for gas, whatever the price. See you at the pump!
