Toddler Rushed To Hospital

A child is now fighting for his life in a Lexington hospital and police are trying to figure out how the toddler was hurt in the first place.

Paramedics were called to the home on Lexington's Allante Brook Court, just after midnight on Wednesday.

Family members say the two-year-old boy was coughing up blood and unconscious.

An aunt of the boy told 27 NEWSFIRST the boy spent some time with his mother's family in Cynthiana this past weekend and thinks that could be where the injuries happened.

Police say they have several people to interview and medical exams to complete before they figure out what hurt the child.

One theory was that the little boy fell, but his aunt says that couldn't be true. She says he was an active child.

We're told the toddler suffered a fractured skull.

So far, no charges have been filed.

Is this baby the one referred in to the story about Kerry Kenney?

The mother is family to me by marriage, and has always been a wonderful mother. DON'T say that something like this happened due to the parents of him. It is something that will come out, and I hope the right people pay for the crime. Instead of everyone blaming a mother going through [edited] watching her child struggle for his life.

This child needs all the prayers he can get. And don't always believe everything the news presents. Many times, they only get portions of the truth. This little boys' injuries go much further than described, and most of this story is focusing in a completely different area than what police and healthcare members were given. Just because one person-an aunt who wasn't even at the hospital-says something, doesn't obligate it as truth. Please pray for this little boy and his mother. They have a long road of tough recovery ahead of them.

I can't see the effects of a serious head injury waiting for 3 days to become obvious. Doesn't make sense if the child was injured last week-end, for it to become apparent on wedsday. Maybe someone knows something and they're not wanting to face up to it.

Here we go again, another innocent child clinging for his life. I don't know what the world is coming to. I pray that God will watch over this small child.

To the aunt: Seems like you have a vandetta against the mothers side of the family. Noone wants to believe that accidents do happen even to the most active child. however I am with you on that is a bad injury so I would be looking into everything instead of pointing fingers. They paramedics were called on Wednesday after midnight...hmmm if he had been hurt at his maternal side of the family over the weekend most likely it would have showed before Wednesday. Just my theory. Just don't point fingers til ya know, causes hurt feelings and don't help the child any. May God bless the little boy and make him feel better fast.

Some people don't deserve the pleasure of a child in their lives.

I doubt if he was hurt over the weekend his injuries would only just now be showing. Sounds like auntie knows something and is shifting the blame toward the boys mother. Hope they figure this one out, and get the right person for hurting that poor baby.
