Woman Found Murdered Along Winchester Street

A man is in jail after police say he stabbed a woman, then left her to die in the middle of a street.

32-year-old Anthony Brown is charged with murder, robbery and tampering with physical evidence.

Winchester police say Brown killed 41-year-old Kim Hooten late Wednesday night. Someone later found her body in the middle of Meadow Street outside the Generations Center..

Police say witnesses told them they saw Brown and Hooten together not long before she was found dead.

Hooten's parents, who spoke to 27 NEWSFIRST, say they were called out to where her body was found. Hooten's mother says she was stabbed several times in the throat, head, chest and back.

Police arrested Brown at an apartment complex on Lexington Road. Police say he was trying to get rid of some evidence, including some items taken from Hooten.

An autopsy is planned on Hooten.

Police say Brown and Hooten had just met but are trying to figure out how they were connected.

Kim Hooten was a friend of mine. I send my deepest sympothy to the family. I am glad that they did catch the person that did this to her. But, it is so sad that this had to happen. Kim, I love you! Your family is in my prayers.
