People Flock To Fill Up In Southern Kentucky

Cars were lined up 7 deep....waiting for what some believe could become a "bargain" price of a penny below four dollars a gallon...in Somerset.

“It's going up...it's supposed to go up even more,” said driver Ann Sears, waiting to fill up at the Somerset Wal-Mart Murphy Oil station.

That same fear was evident in Williamsburg early Friday where drivers were angry over a 30 cent increase..just before noon.

“When I pulled in here maybe 30 minutes ago, it was $3.69....before I could get to the pump it was $3.99,” said driver Ryan Marsh.

There's also the fear that gas stations will run out of gas. The owner of a Williamsburg BP station worried his delivery truck wouldn't arrive on time. It did...but moments later..he raised his price from $3.75 to $4.09 because he says the hurricanes have caused both refinery and pipeline delivery problems..which drove up the wholesale price.

These morons shud have to pay $10 a gallon. They wanted to get "their" share of gas before anyone else. Too many folks get scared at the smallest thing and panic causing mass hysteria...must be Democrats.

LOOK NO FURTHER, IT'S CRIMINAL! THE NATIONAL AVERAGE PRICE TODAY WAS $3.73 AND WAS ONLY $3.65 YESTERDAY. OH AND BY THE WAY, AT HURRICANE GROUND ZERO, GAS WAS ONLY, ARE YOU READY FOR THIS? $3.60! THE INCREDIBLY HIGH PRICE GOUGES, THAT'S RIGHT, GOUGES, ARE ONLY IN KY, TN, AND THE CAROLINAS, SOME OF THE POOREST AREAS OF THE EAST. I SAY PUT THE GUYS MAKING THE PRICE DECISIONS AT THESE GAS STATIONS BEHIND BARS FOR A FEW MONTHS.

I think that we should simply go back to the horse and buggy and simply forget all of this gas nonsense. Maybe it would at least inspire people to do more walking, which, in turn, by increasing the gas prices, they will reduce heart surgeries!

ShaZZamm... IN MY OPINION WE AS COMSUMERS SHOULD REMEMBER JUST WHICH FUEL STATIONS HAVE TOOK ADVANTAGE OF US WHEN THIS IS OVER ...I MEAN THE GAS STATION THAT I NORMALLY FUEL UP AT IS $5.09 A GALLON AS OF RIGHT NOW AND I WILL REMEMBER THIS WHEN ITS ALL OVER...I WILL NOT PATRONIZE THAT STATION ANYMORE... I KNOW THIS WILL NOT AFFECT THEMMUCH BUT IF WE ALL DO THAT THEN THEY WILL PAY IN THE LONG RUN.

Another fuel hike completely created by using scare tactic. Television / radio reports gas is going through the roof and what do you know, it does, but not because it was necessary, just because they can and the media makes everyone think that its necessary. I wonder why fuel companies are making record profits??? Isn't price gouging illegal in the USA???

The governor signs an order to stop price gouging. My question is what will be the highest price or final price we pay as consumers before it is considered price gouging? This should have been stopped a quite awhile back. We accepted the gas hike and didn't think much about it during the summer until we went to Daytona Beach, Florida in July and realized our small, poor, mountain area was paying the same price for gas (actually higher than alot we saw)as the large tourist areas. Go figure! We are being devoured by our own people. I wonder why that doesn't surprise me??

$4.29 is what my husband paid for gas at about 11:00 a.m. at a gas station in Girdler, just outside of Barbourville.

Check the price of oil & wholesale unleaded at this website. http://futuresource.quote.com/markets/market.jsp?id=energy ...Once you have been there & seen how much wholesale gas actually went up today you can decide whether the local gas price gouging is just immoral or truly criminal.
